Critical Input assists in complex 1.3B tender award
Brisbane consultancy service Critical Input proudly supported Coronado Curragh’s major tender for award of its $1.3 billion Curragh North Mining Services Contract.
Critical Input has provided key personnel, process and procurement support to the mining company through the complex, multi-stage tendering process for nearly three years.
The six-year, AUD $1.3 billion contract was awarded to Thiess, which will continue mining services at the Curragh North Mine in Queensland from January 1 next year.
Coronado Curragh is the largest operation of Australian-based Coronado Global Resources – one of the world’s largest producers of high-quality metallurgical coal, with mines in Queensland and the USA.
During the three-year tendering process, Critical Input provided strategy, process control, project management support, assistance with documenting scope and contract requirements.
As Operational Readiness Project Manager, Critical Input Senior Consultant Chris Bevin together with the Critical Input team continue to support Coronado Curragh in realising the benefits achieved in the new contract.

Chris said getting the procurement process right sets the operation up for success during the contract term.
“I’ll now help Coronado Curragh ensure that the changes and improvements achieved through the negotiation are converted into business processes and procedures as well as operational understanding,” Chris said.
“I look forward to supporting the site delivery team to hit the ground running from January 1, 2020.”
